NOW HIRING: Executive Director
Organization: Ely Winton Historical Society
Reports To: Board of Directors
Status: Part time, up to 20/hrs. a week

Position Summary

The Executive Director (ED) provides hands-on leadership and day-to-day management for a small, volunteer-driven historical society dedicated to preserving and sharing local history. This role requires a self-starter who can work independently, support volunteers, and manage multiple responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Comfort working with volunteers and small teams

  • Basic financial management and administrative skills

  • Interest in local history, preservation, or community engagement

  • Proficiency in technological applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, social media, etc.

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience with grant writing or fundraising

  • Familiarity with archival or museum practices

  • Experience in a small or volunteer-run organization

​

Compensation

  • Salary: $15-$20 an hour, depending on qualifications

  • Flexible schedule may be available
